Meeting Your Packing Needs, One Solution at a Time.

JohnPac recently hosted students from Ascension Episcopal School’s Downtown campus at our plant on Monday October 19th, 2015. The students in attendance are in the after school program.

Our Plant Manager, Dan Schmit, gave an overview of our operation and fielded their questions on our corrugated products and their recyclability. Dan and our CEO, Mary Ellen Henry, were then invited to Ascension on Friday November 6th to watch the short skits the students created to highlight the plight of paper and corrugated waste in the USA.

Both teams gave lively performances and recited many statics on the waste stream created by paper and corrugated boxes. One of many statics we heard was the extensive use of already used corrugated containers in the American economy makes them the biggest manufactured product in the waste stream by weight. One of the ideas was to develop an alternative to wrapping papers by using fabrics that can be reused.

Afterwards, some of the students demonstrated for us how their robotics lab worked and the cool things they could do with their robots.

JohnPac manufactured special bags with handles made of woven polypropylene for all of the participants in appreciation of their hard work and presented to the classes and their teachers Ms. Emily Allen and Mr. Sam Stricklin.
